Specialized Kenevo E-Bike Springs

Scout Gregory 20/09/2018 13 Comments
A couple of years ago Specialized Bicycles released the first ever 180mm e-bike - An electric assisted mountain bike capable of getting you up and down the trails with ease. It has come as no surprise that these bikes are extremely popular as they really can do it all!

Specialized offer a few different build specs on the Kenevo e-bike, but each model either comes spec'd with an Ohlins or FOX metric sized shock.

Being a long travel bike with a relatively small stroke shock (2.25") the shock requires quite a high rate spring. If you weigh less than 90kg then this is not a problem, however, if you weigh more than 90kg then the bike will be under sprung and you will struggle to find a coil spring to suit - This is because neither Ohlins or FOX produce spring rates over 650lbs/in!

This is where we step in - We don't produce springs above 650lbs/in as standard, however can custom produce a spring for you - Just let us know how much you weigh and what shock you have and we can help advise which spring rate you require and prices. You can do this by emailing us direct at sales@ti-springs.com or by contacting us via the contact form on our website.

You can also work out what spring rate you will require for your Specialized Kenevo e-bike by using our Spring Rate Calculator below. The bike uses a 2.25" stroke shock and has 7.08" of rear wheel travel.

Ohlins shocks are designed for use with a 36.5mm ID fitment spring and FOX shocks are designed for use with a 35mm ID fitment spring.

Hi - I have a Kenevo with Fox rear shock. According to your calculator I need 770 lb/in spring for my weight (230lb in kit) Can you please price and availability of a ti spring for this set up?

admin 24/10/2018

Hi Dave Thank you for your comment. A titanium spring for a FOX shock on your Specialized Kenevo bike is no problem. The closest spring rate we can produce to 770lbs/in is 775lbs/in. We don't produce a 775lbs/in rate spring as standard, so will have to custom produce this spring for you. For prices and availability please email us direct at: sales@ti-springs.com I hope this helps. Regards Scout @ Ti-Springs.com
